Intel Corporation, Amazon.com and ElephantDrive have cooperated to implement a mashup that improves the mobile aspects of existing web solutions. Jeff Barr, an Amazon Web Services Evangelist, will provide an overview of Amazon Web Services and show you the possibilities created by these innovative offerings. Lester Memmott, a software architect in Intel's Software and Solutions Group, will give an overview of the Intel® Mobile Platform SDK and its benefits. Mike Fisher, Co-founder of ElephantDrive will be presenting a real-life example of how their mashup, with the Intel's Mobile SDK and Amazon S3 APIs have improved their customers' user experience for online back-up and storage. We will also take a look into the code ElephantDrive used in their implementation and discuss the techniques and technologies available to develop more robust mashups that deliver business value.

Lester Memmott
Software Architect, Software and Solutions Group, Intel

Lester Memmott is a software architect in Intel's Software and Solutions Group. Lester joined Intel in 1996 and has worked in a variety of software related areas. Most recently he is developing technology for mobile computers, such as the Intel® Mobile Platform SDK, which enables developers to more easily write software across platforms and runtime environments that adapt to changing mobile environments. He holds two patents with others pending. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Brigham Young University.

Michael Fisher
Co-founder, ElephantDrive

Michael Fisher is co-founder and head of operations and strategy for ElephantDrive, an innovative online backup and storage solution provider. Originally focused on software architecture and development, he is currently charged with managing ElephantDrive's business operations and corporate development.

Prior to ElephantDrive, Fisher was SVP, Operations at Vivendi Universal Net USA's Flipside, a leading online games destination, where he led the Technology, Creative, Advertising Operations, and Customer Relationship Management teams. He has also served as General Manager of the leading online performance firm, TrafficMarketplace.

Michael has a B.A. in Government from Harvard College.

Jeff Barr
Evangelist, Amazon Web Services

Launched in July 2002, Amazon Web Services exposes Amazon.com technology and product data that enables developers to build innovative and entrepreneurial applications on their own. Barr meets regularly with developers in the U.S. and internationally to introduce Amazon Web Services and to help them build businesses and applications with the program's services. He joined Amazon in August 2002 as a Senior Software Developer on the Associates team.

Barr has a longstanding interest in Web services and programmatic information interchange. He has held development and management positions at KnowNow, eByz, Akopia, and Microsoft, and was a co-founder of Visix Software.

He earned his bachelor's degree in computer science from American University and completed graduate work in computer science at George Washington University.
